American Red Cross to Receive $100,000 from National City for Hurricane Katrina Relief Efforts
National City also pledges to match employee contributions up to $400,000
CLEVELAND, Sept. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- The American Red Cross, Greater Cleveland Chapter, today announced that National City Corporation has committed $100,000 to help victims of Hurricane Katrina. The company also will match employee contributions to the Red Cross relief effort by up to $400,000.
The contributions will aid the American Red Cross in ongoing recovery efforts and in meeting other emergency needs.
"National City and its employees are a generous group, and we are grateful for their support of this critical relief mission," said Mary Alice Frank, CEO of the Greater Cleveland Chapter. "The Gulf Coast has a long and slow recovery ahead, and the support of our business community will play an important role in helping those in need."
